The Association and its member chapters always need volunteers to serve boys as mentors and scout leaders. We run an invasive screening process but then provide a worthwhile opportunity to work with a boy who is clearly at risk.
These range from the maintenance and repair of Association vans and the sewing of scout shirts and badges to administrative tasks maintaining our records and arranging needed assistance for individual boys.
The Association seeks partnerships with organizations who would like to serve boys in low income areas and need a structure within which to work. Our most recent addition is the Georgia Appalachian Trail Club now running an extensive backpacking program for boys aged 9 to 18.
Materials and Services
Used but useful Scout shirts, camping equipment and computers for home use are the most valued items, but there are many more for which the Association can assess value and provide a tax deductible donation receipt.
The Association has no office, no facilities and no fundraising staff. Approximate annual cost per boy for the entire program in a mature chapter is approximately $750. All donations are tax deductible.
